Class: Intro to Communication Design II
Term: Spring 2016
Context
When people hear the word "brand" they usually think about the brand's logo or product. However, a brand is so much more than just a logo or typeface - a brand is everything your customers know and think about you. This class focused on understanding the conceptual basis of a brand and how it should inform design.
Project
I was assigned the company Lego and was tasked with designing a sub-brand based off a pivot/new direction provided by my professors. My pivot had me develop a Lego sub-brand for adult users based off the rapidly emerging "maker-movement" and Internet of Things (IoT). In response to this pivot, Legobyte was born.
